The Board is proud to announce a further major expansion plan in the cruise handling sector.
Following on from the tremendous success registered in our first foray on American soil with our representation of NCL in Miami, the expansion within Florida has been continuous. We have managed to successfully take on other lines including NCL, Oceania, Regent, Carnival, MSC, Costa, Disney, and recently Fathom, which will be calling every week as from April. The appetite for growth is incessant. In 2015, SMS handled 728 cruise calls in Miami with a forecasted 760 in 2016.
Thanks to the faith shown in us by our Principals, as well as the results of customer satisfaction indexes within Miami, we have successfully tendered for cruise handling in a further eight ports all along the west coast of America and Canada.
We are proud, therefore, to announce that as from May of this year, SMS will be representing Norwegian Cruise Holdings (Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Cruise Line) in eight new ports from Vancouver and Victoria in Canada (in the North) down to Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego.
In the above ports, SMS will be acting as port agents, ground operators (transferring people from the cruise ship to the airport and vice versa) and handling shore excursions.
This is an enormous leap for our US operations team and we wish them all the luck they deserve in this new project.
Incidentally, apparently we have also been appointed for the port of Astoria. However, Sam cannot find it on his Pocket Atlas! Should anyone succeed in finding it kindly do advise him.
