SMS AVIATION SERVICES undertake the supervision and co-ordination of all airport services provided by Air Malta, Malta International Airport, Civil Aviaion, Enemalta and other purveyors to ensure an efficient and fast turnaround. 

The company operates from an office at the Malta International Airport and is therefore constantly at hand for any requirements. Our office could be placed at the disposal of aircraft crew for communication purposes.

1. COACHES
Coaches-with a maximum capacity of 60 persons-can be provided for transporting passengers from aircraft to terminal and vice/versa. The charge is Lm 9.00 per coach each way. 

2. GPU - GROUND POWER UNIT
A charge of Lm 23.00 per hour. 

3. JCPL - JUMBO CONTAINER PALLET LOADER
This service is usually required by wide bodied aircraft only at a charge of Lm 277 per turnaround. 

4. ASU - AIR STARTER
A fee of Lm27 per start. 

5. BAGGAGE IDENTIFICATION
A fee of Lm 38. 

6. USE OF COMPANY RADIO FREQUENCY
A fee Lm 16. 

7.CARGO HANDLING (for passenger aircrafts)
Lm 0.01 per kg of cargo and mail handled (on or off). 

8. FREIGHTER AIRCRAFT (except Wide-body)
A charge of Lm0.01 is applied for every kilo of cargo and mail handled (on and off) Basic fee Lm 79. Minimum Charge - Lm 140 per turnaround. 

9. FREIGHTER AIRCRAFT (Wide-body)
A charge of Lm 0.01 is applied for every kilo of cargo and mail handled(on and off) Basic fee Lm 79. Minimum Charge - Lm 224 per turnaround. 

10. Handling in the case of tech landing for other than commercial purposes will be charged at 50% of the above rates, provided that a physical change of load is not involved. 

11. Handling in case of return to ramp will not be charged extra, provided a physical change of load is not involved.

13. NIGHT SURCHARGE
The basic handling charges are subject to a 50% Night Surcharge if the aircraft is at the airport between 1830 and 0700 hrs GMT. 

14. CIVIL AVIATION - Landing Fees
(Landing, Take-off, Lighting, Navaids) Landing Fees are calculated at: Lm 12.65 for the first 12,000kg (MTOW) plus Lm 0.76 per additional 500kg. The fee is calculated on the area displacement of the aircraft (e.g. B737 - 300 is Lm 3.90 per 24 hrs whilst a TU-134 is Lm 4.30 per 24 hrs). 

15. MALTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Departure Passenger Tax. A Passenger Tax of Lm 4.00 is applied on all departing passengers and should be included in the fare. An additional Lm 10.00 is applied for all departures originating from Malta. 

16. ENEMALTA - Fuel
Aviation Fuel (JET A1) is supplied at US$ 1.10 per US gallon subject to world oil situation. Fuel supplied at aircraft. 

17. SMS AVIATION SERVICES
A fee of Lm 25 per turnaround applies. Arrangements can be made for all distributors to be paid by SMS Aviation Services on your behalf.
